One step, two steps, on the straight road.
Past the forest, who danced
Past the ocean, who bubbled
Past the fields, who rustled
One step, two steps, on the straight road
To something mysterious
To something unknown
To something different than before
One  step, two steps, on the straight road
Until it breaks
Until it is no longer straight
Until the road is two
One step, two steps, on the straight road
Wondering where to turn
Wondering where to go
Wondering where I’ll be
One step, two steps, on the straight road
Ignoring the other path
Ignoring the chilled whispers
Ignoring the darkness creeping in
Stopping, stopping on the straight road
Running away from the end
Running on the shifting stones
Running to the other road.
