Perfect letters, line after line
Glazing over the words, foreign and far
The minutes that slowly pass seem unending
The monotony a prison, inescapable
The days mirroring each other as they stretch into months
The green light flickering at the laptop
My eyes gently flickering shut, struggling to stare and listen to the drone
Turning into noise and changing screens, morphing into something suffocating
A stressful confinement, swelling and nagging until its fragile
Because the slightest provocation could make it all apart
So it does
Breaking and splintering, whirring and groaning
Hand pull out hair, ripping out earphones
Blaring bright white light, flashing
Until the screen is slammed down
Hurried breaths lay down
Stare up at white walls
Closing their eyes
For the same the next day
