Could we go on a rocket trip around the universe?
The two of us together among the stars and sky
We would see the stars of the past blink down on us
Telling us the stories of lights forgotten and renewed
We would see the colors of galaxy twist around our fingertips
Deep hues of magenta blackness swirling in the sky
Under by planetary dust and debris hanging in the dark
We would travel around celestial bodies of new solar systems
Followed by golden fire of comet and asteroid trails
We would hold hands by the orbit of the moon
And graying igneous structures that dwarf ourselves
Standing under the blinding light of the suns
We would gaze open-mouthed at the secrets of space
An intergalactic journey that you and I could share
As we whisper about the surrounding clouds of nebulae
We would dance amidst the planets of discovery
While never leaving this world of our own
